DID YOU KNOW...


Our community has overwhelming amount of young people using prescription drugs and alcohol. We are actively facilitating and developing programs and strategies for preventing underage substance abuse in order to increase the health and safety of our community, focusing on our youth. Through collaboration with our coalition partners, we offer healthy alternatives and healthy lifestyle opportunities to the youth in Bonner County. Our goal is awareness! We are hoping to inform our whole community of the problems at hand, the risks involved and the measures we can take to resolve these problems to hopefully prevent any tragedies from occurring in our own community from drug and alcohol abuse and overuse. Please, educate yourself on this growing problem and don’t let someone you love become a statistic!

Local Statistics on Prescription Drug Abuse:

Here are the LOCAL statistics on the perceptions of our community surrounding prescription drug use among youth based on a survey sent out to area residents, done via email to 18 local community agencies and organizations, with a total of 220 respondents:

National statistics on prescription drug abuse:

In 2015, there were over 25,000 reported deaths nationally from prescription drug overdoses, a steadily growing, and very real, trend.
